I didn't hear my spotter until contact. Could I have done anything differently? I'm the lead car.

Cars: Car A: Overtaker. Car B: Defender.
In this incident, Car A, as the overtaker, attempted a move on Car B but misjudged the closing speed and available space, resulting in contact. Car A did not ensure a safe overlap before committing to the inside line, leading to the collision. While Car B held a predictable line, they could have reacted slightly earlier to mitigate the risk once Car A's intent was clear. The predominant fault lies with Car A for not avoiding contact
Overtaker Tip:** Wait for overlap before committing and listen to spotter for defender's line.
Defender Tip:** Widen line on 'car inside!' call from spotter to give space.
